The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up their mandatory mini camp Thursday.
Coach Andy Reid says they are in a good spot after the preseason workouts.
Coach Reid said the defense made progress.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes also called it a good camp.
Mahomes said the young and new players improved during the preseason camps.
Mahomes says he will be focusing on several areas before training camp begins.
The Chiefs are off until they open training camp in July.
Kansas City Chiefs made a move to secure their kicker of the future, signing Harrison Butker to a contract extension, the team announced on Twitter.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the particulars of the deal shortly after the announcement: 5 years, roughly $20 million.
In his first game as a Chief during the 2017 season, Butker completed a 43-yard field goal attempt to lift the Chiefs over the Redskins 29-20.
To date, Butker, 25, has converted 62-of-69 career field goals, including going 24-of-27 in 2018, good enough for the 12th-best completion percentage (88.9) in the league.
