A Coffey County man was hurt in a crash near Waverly on Wednesday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Jefferson Scott Goad of Burlington was eastbound on 22nd Road when he swerved to miss an animal near Native Road, or six miles southwest of Waverly, shortly before 11 am. The Highway Patrol does not say whether Goad missed the animal, but it says Goad’s car went through a ditch and fence before hitting a tree.
Goad was taken to Coffey County Hospital in Burlington with suspected minor injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
