Area residents are encouraged to attend one of two community input sessions Monday on improving the state’s early childhood system.
The Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund, Kansas Department for Children and Families, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Kansas State Department of Education and several of the state’s early childhood partners have set up a special series of meetings with the goal of developing a statewide strategic plan for the early childhood years, including education and health.
Meetings across the state, including the two in Emporia, are designed to give state officials a better sense of available programs, which ideas are currently working, where challenges are evident and how all parties can come together to make sure children in Kansas have a good start.
Meetings are from 2:30-3:30 pm and 5:30-6:30 pm, both at the Clarion Inn, 2700 West 18th.
