It was a rough day for Emporia and area golfers in the Optimist Kansas District qualifier played at the Emporia Golf Course Saturday.
In the boys 16-18 age group Caleb Schmidt finished in 7th place finishing with a 74. Justin Kohlman of Cottonwood Falls finished in 16th place with a 79.
In the boys 14-15 age division, Brooks Sauder finished in 14th place with an 89 and Cayden Massey finished in 15th place with a 94.
In the boys 12-13 age group Hudson Sauder finished in 7th place with a 96 and Alex Allemang finished in 8th place with a 102.
The top 3 golfers in each age group, with a qualifying score, are eligable to play in the Optimist International Golf Championship.
