Emporia Fire crews made quick work of a small structure fire in southwest Emporia Tuesday evening.
Batallion Chief Ryan Conley tells KVOE News firefighters were called out for a report of a structure fire in a trailer at 1601 West South Avenue shortly after 8:30 pm Tuesday evening. Emporia Police Officers on scene noticed high heat coming from one of the corners of the residence.
Conley says upon EFD’s arrival on scene light smoke was visible. Upon entry, Conley says crews noticed a small amount of fire coming from one of the walls and extinguished it with a minimal amount of water.
Additional fire was found under the trailer which was also extinguished quickly. The cause and origination point of the fire are currently under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
