The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from the Kansas Senators Monday night.
Post 5 won the first game 8-2. Riley Wagner and Cade Kohlmeier each drove in 2 runs. Beau Baumgardner scored 3 runs. Skyler Beatty was the winning pitcher going 5 and a third innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts.
The Emporia Senior Legion won the 2nd game 7-5. Riley Wagner was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. He was also the winning pitcher.
The Post 5 Seniors will be playing in the Sam Ellis Classic this weekend. They will play the Wichita Aviators at 9am and Ottawa at 7pm Friday.
The Emporia A legion baseball team hosts Newton this evening in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 6pm at Sodens Grove.
