A disastrous 6th inning cost the Kansas City Royals in a 6-2 loss to the Texas Rangers Friday night.
Cheslor Cuthbert, who was called up from Omaha Friday, hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning. Alex Gordan tripled to drive in Adalberto Mondesi giving the Royals a 2-0 lead.
Danny Duffy was cruising thru 5 innings before the fateful 6th inning.
In the 6th inning the Rangers tied the game on a bases loaded walk. Then Joey Gallo hit a grand slam.
The Royals and Rangers play again Saturday afternoon. Homer Bailey will be on the mound for the Royals. First pitch is set for 3:05p. Coverage on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM begins at 2:30p.
