Hostess Brands, LLC is turning one hundred years old this year and it celebrating the milestone with a ‘Sweetennial Tour’ across the nation, stopping in Emporia this morning.
A variety of activities will take place and free sweet samples will be given in downtown Emporia today with Hostess bringing their ‘Twinkie-mobile’ to the celebration. Kent Heermann, President of the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas gives the when and where for the ‘Sweetennial Celebration.’
Some of the mentioned activities include a Hostess-version of Plinko called “Twink-O”, Hostess Corn Hole and Tic-Tac-Toe. A photo booth will also be set up for use as well as other selfie-friendly activities.
As the iconic bakery corporation hits one century of production, Hostess acknowledges its recent success coming from the local cities and counties that their major production plants reside in.
