Work is now underway on Emporia’s annual street rehabilitation project.
Work has either started or will begin soon on seven different streets:
*West 12th from Prairie to Lincoln
*East from Logan to Quail Creek
*East Wilman from Rural to 18th
*Logan from Exchange to East
*Market from SIxth to Eighth
*Mechanic from Sixth to 12th
*Sunnyslope from Sixth to Ninth
Work zones will include curb and gutter, concrete pavement, sidewalk and disability-access ramp installation. Asphalt milling and resurfacing will follow.
Drivers can expect lane shifts and occasional road closures as the projects continue. Drivers should plan to take alternate routes or be cautious in the work zones.
