After day 1 at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Emporia States Brianna Schmitz is in 4th place in the heptathlon after 4 events.
Luke Stenzel qualified for the finals in the 400 meter dash. He had the 6th fastest time in the prelims.
Jazmin Williams finished in 11th place in the long jump. She had a season best jump of 19 feet 7 inches.
The mens 4 by 400 relay will run in the prelims Friday. Parker Evans earned All-American honors as a member of the 4 by 400 relay team in 2016 and 2017.
Evans is joined on the relay team by Brandon Rhone,
Hayden Goodpaster,
and Luke Stenzel. The national meet wraps up Saturday.
