The Kansas City Royals split a doubleheader with the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday.
The Royals won the first game 8-2. The big inning was a 6 run 3rd inning. The big hit a Jorge Soler 3 run home run. Brad Keller was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits with 3 strikeouts.
St. Louis won the 2nd game 10-3. The Cardinals scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and added 2 more in the 2nd inning, all off of Royals starter Homer Bailey.
The Royals would score 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Hunter Dozier hit a solo home run in the 5th to cut the deficit to 5-3. St. Louis put the game out of reach with a 4 run 7th inning.
The Royals are off on Thursday. They begin a weekend series hosting the New York Yankees Friday night.
