If weather permits — and this week, that’s a big if — work is set to begin Monday to repair part of Weaver Street.
Emporia City Clerk Kerry Sull says saw cutting and concrete pavement removal is the first steps as this project goes north from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks to East Sixth. Concrete pouring, striping and other cleanup will finish the project.
Sull says there will be lane shifts and one-lane traffic at times during the project, which could take up to six weeks to finish.
