Possible severe weather remains in the forecast through the weekend into the early part of next week.
According to current models, we could see thunderstorms begin to develop in the late morning and early afternoon Saturday. TV-13 weathercaster Peyton Sanders says the main concerns associated with these possibilities will be large hail and heavy winds.
Sanders says other hazards such as flash flooding will also be a concern with heavy rainfall expected through the early half of next week.
Sunday is anticipated to be mostly dry before chances of thunderstorms and showers redevelop Monday possibly lasting into Thursday. Current projections show the KVOE listening area, specifically Emporia, could receive up to six inches of rainfall by Tuesday.

6 am Saturday: Potential severe weather could bring heavy rainfall through midweek
Chances of severe weather and heavy rainfall linger over the KVOE listening area through the weekend into the early half of next week.
The National Weather Service in Topeka is currently anticipating severe weather activity to begin anywhere between the morning hours and early afternoon Saturday. NWS Meteorologist Matt Wolters.
Anywhere between 1-2 inches of rainfall is expected in the KVOE listening area within the next 24 hours. However, Wolters says the morning and afternoon precipitation could have an impact on severe weather development throughout the day Saturday.
Tomorrow is looking to be clear which will give us a short reprieve from rainfall and severe weather before chances redevelop Monday possibly lasting through Thursday. Flash flooding will again be a concern Monday and Tuesday with large amounts of rainfall expected.
Areawide, rainfall amounts could vary between 3-6 inches with Emporia possibly receiving 6.51 inches by Tuesday.
