Flint Hills Technical College kicked off its commencement activities Friday evening with a ceremony honoring graduates of the Dental Hygiene program.
Graduating students received their dental hygiene pins from family and loved ones during the ceremony inside the Trusler Foundation Conference Room on the campus of FHTC. 15 students were recognized with 11 of those graduating with honors.
One of those students was class President Morgan Smith who says she chose the program both for the medical and social aspect associated with the field.
Class Vice-President Claire Crook says it was an exciting accomplishment to receive her pin and took time to thank the instructors and staff who helped get her to this point.
Both Smith and Crook plan to begin the job search immediately. Along with the awarding of the pins, several awards were given to students in the program and the class closed out the ceremony by reciting the dental hygienists’ oath.
FHTC’s spring commencement ceremony will take place Saturday at 10 am inside White Auditorium. Photos from the pinning ceremony are available online at KVOE.com.
