Regional High School track meets will be held Friday. Emporia High will be hosting a 5A regional at Emporia States Welch Stadium and Zola Witten Track.
They will be competing against athletes from Basehor-Linwood, Bonner Springs, DeSoto, Lansing, Shawnee Heights, Topeka West, Highland Park and Topeka Seaman.
Senior Storm Dial will try to added state qualifier in the long jump to his list of accomplishments after taking 1st in the long jump at the Centennial League meet.
Junior Hannah Cooper is hoping to return to State in the high jump, she is coming off a 2nd place finish at the Centennial League meet last week.
The top 4 finishers in each event will advance to State. Field events will begin at 3:30p with track prelims at 4:30p.
Waverly is hosting a 1A regional at Burlington with Chase County, Hamilton, Hartford, Lebo, Southern Coffey County, Madison, Marais des Cygnes Valley and Olpe also competing.
Burlingame will compete at the Washington County Regional.
Northern Heights goes to Marion.
Misson Valley and Lyndon are at Jefferson County North.
Osage City and Burlington go to Girard. Council Grove is at Cheney.
