More information is coming to light about the former Chase County detention staffer charged with illegal sexual contact with an inmate.
Maudi McCorgary stands accused of one unlawful sexual relations count and three contraband trafficking counts. Court documents provided to KVOE News indicate McCorgary became involved with a Sedgwick County inmate before her time ended with the Chase County Jail in February. The investigation started after McCorgary allegedly sent the inmate a money order for his jail account less than three weeks after her employment ended. The investigation determined over 300 phone calls between the two, including some indicating sexual contact and illegal contraband — vodka, tobacco and methamphetamine — from McCorgary to the inmate.
McCorgary worked at the jail from August 2018 to early February. Her first appearance is May 31.
McCorgary becomes the second Chase County jail staffer to be charged with unlawful sexual conduct in the last eight months. Courtney White-Dold, charged in September with unlawful relations with another Sedgwick County inmate, agreed to diversion in April.
