The Emporia High baseball team rolled to a 15-0 win over Sumner Academy in the semi-round of the St. Thomas Aquinas regional Monday, advancing to the regional championship game.
The Spartans scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Added 3 more in the 3rd, highlighted by a Jace Stewart home run. They scored 3 more runs in the 4th and scored 7 runs in the 5th inning for the run rule win. Everyone had at least a hit, scored a run or drove in a run. Jace Stewart drove in 4 runs, Kadyn Williams drove in 3 runs. Hayden Baumwart tossed a no hitter for the 5 innings. He struck out 9 and did not walk a batter.
Emporia High will play St. Thomas Aquinas in the regional championship game on Thursday.
Aquinas defeated Kansas City Turner 9-0. Turner defeated Topeka West 10-0.
