Planning continues in advance of Emporia’s annual street rehabilitation project.
City Engineer Jim Ubert says eight street segments are involved. Most heralded will be 12th from Prairie to Lincoln.
Other projects include:
*East from Logan to Quail Creek
*East Wilman Court
*Logan Avenue from East to Exchange
*Market from Sixth to Eighth
*Mechanic Street north of White Auditorium to 12th
*Sunnyslope from Sixth to Ninth
Ubert says the city has a pavement management software system that staffers use to determine the list. The city has four quadrants and every quadrant is discussed every other year. If there are utility issues, those are fixed first before streets see repair.
Work could start by late May or early June.
