The Emporia School Board race has another incumbent involved as the field gets more crowded.
Grant Riles has filed for re-election along with newcomer Jeff Lutes. Riles joins Art Gutierrez as incumbent candidates for the school board. Fellow incumbent Mallory Koci, who is filling the unexpired term left open when Mike Helbert resigned last year, has not announced whether she plans to run for a full term.
Separately, Sidney Conger has filed to run for Allen City Council. Conger is the first to file for that board.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is June 3. If enough candidates file paperwork by then, a primary election will be held Aug. 6.
