An incumbent has filed for re-election to the Emporia School Board.
Art Gutierrez field his paperwork at the Lyon County Election office Monday. This would be his second term if elected, having won a seat on the board in 2015.
Gutierrez becomes the first USD 253 school board candidate to file. Another incumbent, Susan Brinkman, has already announced a campaign for Emporia City Commission. Two other incumbents, Grant Riles and Mallory Koci, have not announced their intentions as of yet.
