The Emporia High Spartan Baseball Team closed out play in the Roundball Classic Saturday with a 16-6 route of Garden City.
Beau Baumgardner collected four hits in four at-bats for the Spartans including a single in the first, a double in the fourth, a double in the fifth, and a single in the sixth. Emporia High earned the victory despite allowing Garden City to score four runs in the second inning.
Cade Kohlmeier was the winning pitcher for Emporia High. He allowed seven hits and six runs over six innings, striking out three.
The Spartans return to action Tuesday when they take on Manhattan at Soden’s Grove.
