Emporia State Athletics held their Senior recognition and Awards banquet, re-branded the Corkys, Wednesday night.
Track and Field Athlete Brianna Schmitz was named the Female Student Athlete of the year.
Football player Landon Nault was named the Male Student Athlete of the year.
The Hornet Legacy Award, which recognizes an Emporia State senior that has exemplified what it means to be a Hornet throughout his or her career, was awarded to Addie Lackey of the womens basketball team and Tanner Cairns a pitcher for the baseball team.
The Undergraduate award of excellence was given to football player Jace McDown and Tanna Benefiel of the soccer team and Jessica Wayne of the womens basketball team.
The Comeback Kid award was given to football player Justin Brown.
And the Jon “Doc” Baxter Award of Excellence, that recognizes a Student Athletic trainer, was awarded to Logan Prins.
