Emporia Police have arrested a Kansas City, Kansas man with local ties in connection to the robbery of a downtown convenience store almost three months ago.
Capt. Dave DeVries says 44-year-old Harold Stewart was arrested by the Nevada Highway Patrol in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Stewart’s arrest followed an alleged armed robbery of the Max’s BP store Feb. 19 and a lengthy investigation that followed. Detectives were able to get a warrant issued for the crime before Stewart’s arrest.
DeVries says Stewart has some connections to Emporia but did not detail those. Formal charges are currently pending.
