The Kansas City Royals swept a doubleheader from the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday.
The Royals won the first game 3-2. They scored all 3 runs in the first inning. Adalberto Mondesi hit a 2 run home run and Alex Gordon scored on a Kelvin Gutierrez ground out.
The Royals rolled in the 2nd game winning 8-2.
They scored 3 runs in the first highlighted by Kelvin Gutierrez 2 run home run. The Royals added 4 runs in the 4th inning. Glenn Sparkman was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up no runs on 3 hits with 6 strikeouts to pick his first career win.
