Friday was an inspiring night for Flint Hills Technical College — and not just because of the name of the Foundation’s annual fundraising gala.
The Night of Inspiration generated around $95,000. College President Dr. Dean Hollenbeck credited the work of the Foundation for organizing a showcase event.
Besides being a showcase event for the college and its departments, Hollenbeck says the gala draws attention to the college’s working relationship with its expanding network of business partners.
The gala featured live and silent auctions, a meal from the Culinary Arts Department and music from the Fountain City 45’s.
Proceeds benefit scholarships, which gives students peace of mind when other costs like fees or books increase. Hollenbeck says Flint Hills Technical College has not had a tuition increase the last two years, but college administrators are mindful of the impact of rising costs for students so the gala becomes essential for helping students get their education and move into the work world.
