The Glass Blown Open culminates this weekend.
Play enters its final rounds Saturday morning, with most groups except flex start doubles wrapping things up by early evening. Doubles play will end Sunday.
Meanwhile, players and community converged on the Lyon County Fairgrounds on Friday night for the Swedish Bonfire, glow golf, putting semifinals and ace contest. Zach Johnston of Norman, Oklahoma, brought his son, Jeran, to be part of the GBO. He says his attitude about the sport has changed over the last two years.
Saturday night, the event focus is twofold. The annual block party goes from 5-10:30 pm in the 700 and 800 blocks of Commercial. The Rainwater Razz Round, where players will battle as much good-natured noise as they can stand, begins roughly 30 minutes after the last putt at the Emporia Country Club.
