The MIAA tennis tournaments will be played this weekend. The women begin play Friday. The men play their matches Saturday.
The Emporia State women open against Northwest Missouri State. Karen Santiago will play number 5 singles.
The Men open against Southwest Baptist. Taylor Nelson has been playing number 3 singles.
Emporia State had 8 players named to the All MIAA team.
For the women Silvana Caceres is a 2nd team select at number 6 singles. Receiving honorable mentions the doubles teams of Viktoria Mackova and Karen Santiago and Silvana Caceres and Shannen Meyer.
For the men: receiving 2nd team honors Charles Gortzounia at number 1 and Andy Graf at number 6 singles.
Receiving honorable mentions- Taylor Nelson and Lukas Winkler in singles play. The doubles team of Charles Gortzounia and Taylor Nelson.
Taylor Nelson also received the Sportsmanship award.
