A long-discussed cell tower project could see approval Thursday morning during the Lyon County Commission weekly action session.
Commissioners are set to review a conditional use permit from AT&T for the erection of a cell tower west of Emporia on Road 190 between D and E. This will be the third time in two months commissioners have reviewed the item.
The permit was first proposed in February at which time it was tabled for further discussion. In March the item was sent back to the Lyon County Zoning and Planning Board for a revote.
A formal petition was filed against the ordinance by homeowners in the proposed area for where construction on the tower could take place. Also on the agenda, North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging Director Julie Govert Walter will have a report for commissioners on ongoing services.
Several proposals from county departments are also scheduled to come before the commission. The meeting begins at 8 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
