Results have been announced after a special traffic enforcement effort linked to marijuana over the weekend.
Emporia Police made 11 traffic stops Saturday, according to Sgt. Lisa Sage. Officers issued five warnings and made two arrests, one for driving under the influence and one for a warrant. Officers also responded to one domestic violence call.
Lyon County deputies made two drug-related arrests and three total felony arrests during the enforcement period. They also issued 21 traffic and speed citations, handled two crashes and made 12 warning stops.
Additional details have not been released.
The local law enforcement presence was part of a special “420 Enforcement Campaign” that included officers from Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
