The Emporia High girls swim team finished in 5th place out of 11 teams at the Salina Invitational Friday and had one automatic State qualifier.
The 400 free relay team of Kaylen Hart, Ashlyn Alingh, Kelsey Boettcher and Hailey Williams had an automatic qualifying time for state and finished 4th.
The same 4 swimmers finished 4th in the 200 free relay and missed the automatic qualifying time for state by 58 hundredths of a second.
Ashlyn Alingh finished 2nd in the 100 butterfly and missed the automatic time for state by 67 hundredths of a second.
Kaylen Hart finished 3rd in the 200 free with a state consideration time.
Hailey Williams finished in 4th place in the 500 free.
