One man who reached a plea agreement on drug crimes as part of an alleged distribution ring in Emporia received over five years in prison for his involvement.
Luis Guillen was sentenced to five years, seven months Tuesday. Guillen was originally charged with distribution within 1,000 feet of a school, namely Emporia Christian School, as well as paraphernalia possession and other counts before pleading to a single count of possession with intent to distribute as part of an agreement reached in February.
Charges were announced in September after an investigation by the Emporia Police Department came to light.
