The Emporia High girls swim and dive team finished in 3rd place at the Wichita West Invitational Saturday. The Lady Spartans had 2 first place finishes and 1 state qualifier.
Diver Haylee Weiss finished in 1st place, Karalyn Karjala was 2nd and Cadance Vincent finished in 4th place and qualified for state.
The 400 free relay team of Kaylen Hart, Ashlyn Alingh, Kelsey Boettcher and Hailey Williams finished in 1st place.
The same 4 swimmers finished in 2nd place in the 200 free relay with a state consideration time.
Kaylen Hart finished 3rd in the 200 free with a state consideration time.
Ashlyn Alingh had a state consideration time in the 50 free, finishing in 5th place. She was also 6 hundreths of a second away from automatically qualifying for state in the 100 butterfly.
