Activities are now underway for the 25th annual Tallgrass Science and Nature Writing Workshop.
Saturday’s activity list at the Emporia Arts Center includes breakout sessions and appearances from Kansas native and New York Times bestselling author Sarah Smarsh. Longtime workshop organizer Max McCoy with more:
Smarsh’s keynote address will be at 3 pm.
As usual, the workshop features numerous experts and presenters, including McCoy, Kansas Poet Laureate and Emporia State University English professor Kevin Rabas, ESU Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences Brent Thomas and New Territory magazine founder Tina Casagrand.
Friday’s activities include trips to the Tallgrass Praire National Preserve, the Steve and Glenda Schmidt property in Marion County and the Ross Natural History Preserve north of Emporia.
