Last-minute tax filers in Emporia are told to take certain steps to make sure their documents get to the Internal Revenue Service or the Kansas Department of Revenue without issues next week.
Postmaster Harry Gifford says a big step in that direction is making sure you can track the progress of your documents.
Monday is Tax Day, and Gifford says the main window will be open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The dropbox behind the post office will have its last pickup at 4 pm, and mail from other dropboxes across town will be picked up earlier than that Monday.
