The Seattle Mariners rallied for a 7-6 win over the Kansas City Royals in 10 innings Thursday afternoon.
The Royals had a 6-3 lead after 7 innings but could not hold on for the win.
The Royals did get home runs from Hunter Dozier, Jorge Soler and Adalberto Mondesi. Royals center fielder Billy Hamilton was carted off the field in the ninth inning, after apparently injuring his left knee while trying to make a game-ending catch. An MRI exam after the game revealed a mild left-knee sprain, and he is considered day to day. Manager Ned Yost called it tough way to lose.
The Royals have now lost 10 in a row. Whit Merrifields hitting streak came to an end, ending at 31 games.
The Royals begin a 3 game series with Cleveland Friday night.
