One person needed medical attention after a semi crash in far west Emporia on Thursday.
The wreck happened on the east side of the US Highway 50 around 2:40 pm. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says ambulance crews took one person inside to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment afterward.
Crash details are currently pending through Emporia Police. The roundabout’s east exit has been totally blocked by the crash, with traffic having to go to the nearby roundabout near the Kansas Turnpike exit and Interstate 35. Westbound traffic can now go either north to the Turnpike and I-35 or continue west on US 50.

3 pm Thursday:Â Traffic disrupted on west highway 50 roundabout after semi rollover
Emergency crews are currently on scene of a semi rollover in western Emporia.
Crews were called to the West Highway 50 roundabout around 2:40 Thursday afternoon for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arriving, crews discovered a semi truck had overturned in the roundabout.
There is currently no word on injuries or the cause of the rollover. The east exit of the roundabout has been blocked by the semi.
