The Emporia High baseball team split a doubleheader with Topeka Seaman Tuesday.
Seaman won the first game 12-3. Seaman scored 5 runs in the 5th inning to take control of the game. For Emporia High Skyler Douglas drove in 2 of the runs and Hayden Bauwart scored all 3 runs.
Emporia High won the 2nd game 11-2. Scoring 6 of those runs in the 3rd inning. Riley Wagner was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with 4 strikeouts. He was also 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI. Beau Baumgardner was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. The Spartans are now 3-1 for the season. They play at Washburn Rural Friday.
