Emporia State womens basketball coach Toby Wynn has announced the signing of 3 players.
Mollie Mounsey a transfer guard from Colorado State. She was the second leading scorer and rebounder for Colorado State in 2018-19 at 10.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She played for Coach Wynn at Seward County for 2 seasons before transferring to Colorado State.
Fredricka Sheats a 5-9 guard transfer from Central Georgia Tech. Sheats was named the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year, First-Team All-Region and earned Second-Team NJCAA Division I All-American honors after averaging 17.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals on the season.
And Laura Garcia-Laffitte a 6-4 center from Spain. Garcia-Laffitte averaged eight points, eight rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game playing in both the Spanish junior and senior leagues.
Coach Toby Wynn says all 3 fill a need for next season.
The three join 3 players that were announced in January.
Grace Gordon a 5-6 guard from Melbourne, Australia. Jalyn Harris a 6-3 post player from Chicago, Illinois and Kirsten Young a 5-9 guard from Burlington, Kansas.
The Lady Hornets graduated six players off last year’s team, but are set to return four players that started at least one game last year including MIAA Defensive Player of the Year Jessica Wayne.
