The Emporia Senior Center was full for its second Trunk Treasures flea market Saturday.
Over 20 vendors were on hand with a range of items for sale. One vendor brought in a bee display and several businesses that use the Senior Center as an incubator kitchen were also part of the event.
Organizer Vanessa Schroeder says the flea market is part of the Senior Center’s push to become more of a hub for community activities — led by the board and Director Ian Boyd.
Proceeds go into the Senior Center’s operating budget. Schroeder says the air conditioning system and walk-in coolers have had to be replaced. Part of the kitchen has been updated, but the floors need to be re-done and the walls need to be re-painted.
Another Trunk Treasures event is tentatively slated for this fall. For more information about the Senior Center and its activities, call 343-3160 or find the center on Facebook.
