The National Teachers Hall of Fame has announced all the inductees for this year, and plans for the induction weeks come together.
The five inductees for the NTHF Class of 2019, starting from first selected to last, are:
- Dr. Mary Jo Murray, a high school math teacher for 26 years from Palm City, Florida.
- Dyane Smokorowski, the PreK-12 technology and innovations teacher for 21 years from Andover, Kansas.
- 4th-grade teacher Christopher Albrecht of Brockport, New York, who’s been teaching for 23 years.
- Richard Knoeppel of Las Vegas, Nevada who has taught career and technical education for 31 years.
- David Bosso of Berlin, Connecticut, a high school social studies teacher for 21 years.
The NTHF has two separate induction weeks for the upcoming classes, one in Washington D.C. and the other here in Emporia. The D.C. induction week starts late in April and Carol Strickland, Director of the NTHF and class of 2003 inductee talks about the trip’s itinerary.
Strickland says the Emporia induction week will follow a similar pattern from previous years, with one exception.
