The Emporia State softball team swept a doubleheader from Newman Tuesday.
Emporia State won the first game 19-2. They scored 8 runs in the 3rd inning and 9 runs in the 4th. Hanna Steeby was 4 for 4 with 6 RBI and 4 runs scored. One of her hits a 3 run home run in the 4th inning. Cassidy Beem was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. She hit a 2 run home run in the 2nd inning. Gabby Biondo hit a 3 run home run in the 3rd inning.
In the 2nd game Emporia Rallied for a 10-4 win. They scored 7 runs in the 7th inning to overcome a 4-3 deficit. Cassidy Beem hit a 2 run home run in the 7th. The Emporia State softball team has now won 6 in a row. They will be playing a doubleheader at Southwest Baptist Friday and at Central Missouri Saturday.
