One man who allegedly absconded from a Greenwood County work release assignment early this year allegedly escaped again late last month.
Details about Anthony Keyes’ disappearance have not been released. However, the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says Keyes was arrested March 20 in Miami, Fla., on suspicion of aggravated escape from custody. Word on formal charges and upcoming court dates are pending.
Keyes, 38, reportedly left a Greenwood County work assignment Jan. 28. He was taken out of the county by a family member who was unaware of the overall situation. Keyes was arrested in early February.
The Kansas Department of Corrections says Keyes has prior convictions in Greenwood County for burglary, theft, criminal damage and escape from custody dating back to 2000. He also has a Butler County conviction for forgery in 2012 and an Elk County conviction for theft in 2009.
