The Kansas City Royals opened their season with a 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox Thursday.
Brad Keller shutout the White Sox thru 7 innings to pick up the win. Manager Ned Yost called it tremendous outing.
Jorge Soler drove in 2 runs. Adalberto Mondesi hit 2 triples, drove in a run and scored a run.
Alex Gordon scored 2 runs and drove in a run. Whit Merrifield had 2 stolen bases and scored 2 runs.
Chicago scored all of their runs in the top of the 9th. The Royals and White Sox are off Friday they resume their season opening series Saturday.
