One defendant in a drug distribution case from last fall has accepted a plea agreement, while another has seen an upcoming hearing continued.
Marquise Richardson pleaded no contest this week to possession with intent to distribute and will be sentenced May 22. Richardson had originally faced charges of charges of cocaine distribution, marijuana distribution and possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, plant or cultivate after an arrest in October. Authorities say Richardson was captured with marijuana, cocaine and money in his possession after allegedly fleeing police.
Meanwhile, Raul Magallanez was set for a hearing this week but that has been continued to April 8. Magallanez is charged with marijuana distribution and paraphernalia possession with intent to manufacture, plant or cultivate. Police investigators say Magallanez had pot in his car as they investigated the case against Richardson.
The charges against Magallanez also effectively accuse him of violating parole after he pleaded no contest to two counts of aggravated indecent liberties in 2011.
