Wednesday is a big day for the Emporia Community Foundation and a number of area community groups wanting to be involved in the Community Foundation’s sixth annual Match Day.
A special reveal event is taking place at 1 pm at Flinthills Mall to announce the participants. The public is encouraged to attend.
Director Becky Jeppesen says the Community Foundation wanted to do something special for the groups involved this year.
This is the first time since the debut event six years ago that all interested community groups had to apply to be involved.
Match Day, meanwhile, is set for Veterans Day at the mall. The event has generated better than $814,000 for over 30 local and area organizations.
