Tuesday night, USD 252 basketball fans and students took a wild ride with a different style of basketball.
A donkey basketball event was held in the Hartford High School Gymnasium, and yes it’s exactly what you would expect: students and even some faculty playing basketball atop majestic and talented donkeys.
USD 252 Superintendent Dr. Mike Argabright talked about how this idea came about.
This event was a fundraiser for the Southern Lyon County Honor Flight program. This is a program where a student and a veteran pair up and go to Washington DC to see war memorials, museums and other sights.
Veteran Glen Knuth enjoyed his time with the program.
The Honor Flight program will have a spring flight taking off April 22 and another flight later in the fall. For more information, call the district office at 620-392-5519 or go online to www.usd252.org.
