The seventh annual John “Doc” Baxter Scholarship Fund taco feed is slated for Wednesday.
Pan-fried tacos will be available at the Didde Catholic Campus Center, 1415 Merchant, from 11 am to 7 pm. Emporia State Director of Athletic Training Matt Howe says the funds raised go into the scholarship as well as other student learning and leadership opportunities.
The event is named for Baxter, Emporia State’s longtime athletic training director, who passed away in 2016. Baxter served as ESU’s head athletic trainer and instructor from 1966 to his retirement in 2012. He also served as the university’s director of athletic medicine.
Tacos are $2 each or $20 per dozen. You can also order yours to be frozen. For information or to order tacos, call Howe on Tuesday at 341-5499 or the church Wednesday at 343-6765.
