The Emporia High girls and boys track teams both finished in 2nd place at the Topeka West Invitational and picked up 8 gold medals.
The Lady Spartans picked up 6 first place finishes:
The 4 by 400 relay of Gloria Aguirre-Peroza, Jordan Timmons, Erin Negrete and Elizabeth Schwerdtfeger.
Elizabeth Schwerdtfeger took first in both the long jump and triple jump.
Mya Tovar won the shot put.
And Miranda Taylor took first in the steeple chase.
The boys had 2 first place finishes:
Matthew East had the fastest time in the 110 hurdles and Storm Dial had the best long jump.
