Emporia State has released the 2019 football schedule.
The Hornets kick-off the season on September 5th, a Thursday, when they host Northeastern State.
In week two the Hornets play at Pittsburg State on September 14th, a Saturday.
They will also host Nebraska Kearney on September 21st.
Northwest Missouri State October 5th.
Central Missouri on October 19th for Homecoming.
Washburn November 2nd and Central Oklahoma on November 16th.
Emporia State will begin Spring practices Tuesday. Coach Garin Higgins says this a great time to evaluate younger, unproven players.
The Hornets will have a number of spots to fill, especially offensively with the loss of 4 receivers, 3 of them starters. The MIAAs only 1000 yard rusher and a 3 year starting quarterback.
Coach Higgins says right now Dalton Cowan has the edge at quarterback.
The spring game, Legions game and Traditions dinner will be held April 13th.
