The Emporia State baseball team held on for a 4-3 win over 18th ranked Central Oklahoma Sunday to win the 3 game series 2-1.
Lou Penner hit a solo home run in the 4th to give the Hornets a 1-0 lead. Cooper Minnick drove in 2 runs with a double in the 7th to put the Hornets in from 3-0. Tanner Arst singled in a run in the 8th to give Emporia State a 4-1 lead going to the 9th inning. Central would score 2 runs in the bottom of 9th to make things interesting. The Hornets are now 11-8 for the season and 8-4 in the MIAA. The Hornet baseball team is scheduled to host Oklahoma Christian Tuesday.
